Our enthusiastic kitchen team is led by our highly experienced Head Chef, Ludovic Pouetre, sourcing the best quality local produce. We’re lucky in that we don’t have to venture far to find fine produce. Here are just some of our local suppliers:
Mark Jones & Son - Coracle Fishermen, who fish the River Teifi, only a few miles from The Daffodil.
Dewi James A'i Gwmni are Quality Welsh Butchers located in the heart of West Wales supplying prime quality local meat for over fifty years. Their produce comes either from their own farm, or trusted local suppliers from the surrounding Teifi Valley, thus ensuring confidence, and full traceability.
Two Rivers ‘Finest Ducks & Geese’ specialise in producing Ducks and free-range Geese, reared using traditional slow-growing methods, overlooking the Wye Valley.
Welsh Seafoods Ltd are based on the Docks in Milford Haven, and focus on supplying for fish caught in Welsh waters and landed on Welsh shores. The company owns the two largest Welsh-owned trawlers - the Murcurious and the Stephanie (so guaranteeing supplies of local fish, and buys fish from over 40 local fishing boats, which means we can supply caterers and retailers with locally and imported fish and shellfish, prepared to their requirements and delivered on one of our refrigerated vans. Welsh Seafoods pride themselves on sourcing fully traceable quality fish, sustainably caught.
Rhydlewis Trout Farm & Smokery, (4 miles, nr Llandysul) using only traditional curing methods, smoking very slowly in wooden chambers using the finest oak saw dust to create the finest characteristic smokey taste only found in the very highest quality foods. Smoked products include: Salmon, Trout, Cheeses, Bacon, Ham, Butter, Garlic, Chocolate; and lots more.
Maesyffin Mushrooms (3 miles, Llandysul) have been growing their award-winning organic Shiitake mushrooms in rural West Wales since 2003. The mushrooms grow on fruiting blocks made mainly from locally-sourced oak and are cultivated in a system developed by Humungus Fungus. The entire process is certified as organic by the UK Soil Association.
